Application for solomon to become a ferrymen alongside his guard position

Shortish Backstory: (dumbed down version otherwise it would be a literal novel)

Solomon initially wasn't particularly keen about having a partner at first, often going about his duties alone. During a patrol of the forests he calls home, he had come across an injured Thyravai and, not knowing what it was or what to do due to never really leaving the constraints of his home and his duties, he made attempts to approach it but was barred from any kind of interaction due to its injuries. Not knowing why he was so interested in the creature, he took to looking for information from experts, asking around about what kind of creature it was. He soon learned of the Thyravai and their secluded nature, along with the dangers of being around one and how there are those called Ferrymen who tamed these kinds of beasts. With this new knowledge, he set about wanting to earn the beasts trust. Something about its mysterious form intrigued him and pulled him close. Over countless days, he would spend his free time attempting to get close to it, tossing food near it and sitting nearby, as if to let the beast get used to his presence. He felt a strange feeling forming, one that he couldn't really describe. It was the day that the beast finally trusted him enough to allow him to get close and touch it, albeit with reservation that he realised. He was able to stay nearby long enough to tend to its wounds, inviting it near his home for a safe and warm shelter to recover. Over time after recovering enough, the Thyravai started helping Solo during his duties, usually either following behind and watching him or actively defending him (although again from a distance). At some point, it just clicked, both became inseparable and close.

The Thyravai is super protective of Solomon, often staying near him at all times where possible or watching him from a distance.

Solomon felt a strange connection upon first meeting the Thyravai, which led into learning about them and wanting to connect with it, even taking time out of his free time to tend to and look after them.

He found himself wanting to look after and become friends with the beast, caring for it as a friend and protector.

Solo despite all he can do and for all his strength, is still fairly small due to him being an Avariel and having a large beast like the Thyravai would really help in his duties and with lugging things around.

Solo is pretty much a loner despite wanting to make friends. This was something unexpected for him but he went deep into learning about the beast and actively trying to become close to it
